Ken's Hinterland Adventure Tours is one of the first specialist nature/adventure tour companies
to be established in Dominica.
Ken George Dill the Managing Director of the company, for the last 20 years has been exploring
this rugged, exotic and seemingly un tamable nature paradise.
The giant green clad mountains, the lush oceanic rainforests with massive trees like the
Gommier (Dacryodes Excelsa) and the incredibly buttressed Chattagnier (Slonea Caribea)
The many rivers which literally ooze out of the mountains to create thundering waterfalls and
places like the incomparable Ti Tou Gorge, the indescribable triple Boli Falls and the numerous
other water falls.
The Boiling Lake reaching temperatures of over two hundred degrees Fahrenheit and
panoramic landscapes which will take your breath away.
These are some of the things which Ken has spent the last 18 years acquainting himself with,
learning the names of exotic plants and trees is something which he takes very seriously.
He loves to share that wealth of knowledge with the employees of the company and visitors who
come to the island, he relaxes by climbing down vines into gorges or hiking across the
mountains, conducting a tour or discovering a new waterfall.
All the employees are as equally enthusiastic about their jobs and the island, they love the
island with a passion, their work is to them like a hobby which they cannot get enough of.
Some of the company's employees are Ham operators who are able to communicate even form
remote locations in the event of an emergency, as was the case when someone fell into the
Boiling Lake.
Fortunately a Ken's Hinterland Adventure Tours guide, arrived in time to call on his radio for
assistance, the victim was successfully rescued because of his efforts.
